This competition is based on your ability to create a picture-perfect cut. You are allowed to use color, fibers, or any tools you need to create the picture-perfect cut. Officials will discuss the Fade, the shape-up, the finished look, and the originality of the haircut. Any hairstyle is acceptable, but officials must see transitions from fading. The more natural the fade or blend the better.
This competition has three categories: Fade - Connection, Hairline - Precision, Final Finish - 360
This competition features the every-day-cut that is all about precision. The low fade must be a true low fade and not a mid or high fade. The length on the top must be no lower than 3/16”, 4.78 mm, or no lower than a #3 guard. Transitioning from a “Triple 0 guard” or lower. It must be a clean transition. The model will be judged on the fade transitions, the shape up, the beard’s symmetry, and definition, as it related to the overall cut.
Guards must be placed on display on your station during the LIVE battle along with other tools used in this competition. Each tool must be held up to the camera/audience at the beginning of each battle and shown to the camera/audience with each transition of use.
Barbers can show off artistic skills and creativity in design. The overall cut and design must be original and visionary. Permanent pre-color can be used 24 hrs before the competition. All color applications performed during the competition must be pre-mixed and displayed with other color tools on your station. Everything used for the competition must be shown to the audience before the competition begins. There are to be no pre-cuts.
Complexity, creativity, design, and precision are the areas that officials will be discussing when viewing your work. Design can include themed attire worn by the model and is helpful in presentation and overall execution.
